A Grand Community in the Heart of Wake Forest
Heritage Wake Forest is located near the vibrant downtown district of Wake Forest, one of several towns that come together to create the Triangle area. Nestled halfway between the mountains and the sea, Wake Forest is enjoying the same phenomenal growth and activity that is apparent everywhere in the Triangle area. The town's well-preserved business district includes a wide variety of architectural styles illustrating more than 125 years of development. Yet the town, accentuated by its beautiful historic homes and tree-lined streets, has stayed small enough to attract newcomers from all over.
Wake Forest was created in 1834 when the state's Baptist leaders opened a ministerial college. The college’s presence was important to the growth and prosperity of Wake Forest from the 1830s through the mid-1900s. In 1956, the college – Wake Forest University - was relocated to Winston-Salem North Carolina. Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary now occupies the campus.
